Champagne

White Arita porcelain, slip cast champagne/water/sake cups.
White porcelain, sand-cast elevated tray.

In this project I wanted to approach the material porcelain in two very different ways:
One being a carefully controlled design process with defined, precise drawings leading to
prototype work, fine-tuning, mouldmaking and perfect repeatability in thin, white Arita
porcelain, as a goal.

The other, an intuitive, instant sand-casting technique where the expressive one-off result may
be unforeseen but also forgiving ‘au naturel’. Hands directly in the material, and completely out
of your hands, too.
